A huge list of ways to keep fired up and focused on pushing your fitness business forward.

Don’t let the January slump keep you from pushing ahead with your business goals for the year. Here’s a huge list of ways to keep fired up and focused on pushing your fitness business forward.

Nothing is more motivating than achieving a quick win in business that will kickstart momentum.

Have we missed anything? What do you do to stay focused and moving forward as a fitness business owner? We’d love to know so we can share with the Striive community.

1. Revisit your business goals for the year

Make sure they are specific and achievable (dreaming big is great, but falling short is demotivating!)

2. Track your progress

You’d tell fitness clients to track, so why not do it yourself? Track everything you do to move towards your business goals.

3. Set personal goals

Ticking off achievements in your personal life will fire up your focus on the business.

4. Refocus on your own training or nutrition

If you’ve let your own fitness goals slide whilst taking care of the business, turn the dial up and do the things you now make you look and feel better.

5. Get some quick wins

Nothing is more motivating than achieving a quick win in business that will kickstart momentum.

6. Get the boring stuff done

Financial admin, business paperwork, outsourcing…none of it is exciting, but it feels great to get it done.

7. Look back to look forwards

Spend some time looking at your business growth to appreciate how far you’ve come.

8. Talk to your clients

Take time to chat to existing clients about their own goals and how they feel about training with you.

9. Organise a social

Get all your members together in one place (irl or online) to relight the fire under your business.

10. Take breaks

Yes, stepping back can propel you forward, so be sure to make time for self-care to nourish your mind and body.

11. Surround yourself with supportive and inspiring people

Other fitness professionals, business partners, clients, or friends and family.

12. Nurture hobbies outside of work

Spend time on activities that you enjoy, even if (especially if) they’re not to do with fitness.

13. Ask for testimonials

Client testimonials aren’t just great for marketing, they’re a great way to boost your business motivation, too.

14. Keep learning

Seek out new training opportunities, go to some conferences or workshops, or do some online CPD.

15. Visit other gyms

Take time to drop in on other businesses in your niche to get inspired (or to see how much better you’re doing!)

16. Stay on trend

Make an effort to keep up-to-date with industry themes, emerging trends, and best practices.

17. Reflect on your passions

What really motivates you? Use these to refocus on your business mission to keep you inspired.

18. Learn from failures

Write down 3-5 key failures you’ve experienced then list the ways you’ve learned and grown from them.

19. Write it down

Every day for a week, write down 3 things per day that you’re grateful for about your fitness business.

20. Seek out new challenges

Book something that scares you a little bit, whether that’s professional or personal.

21. Visualise success

Use meditation or visualisation techniques every day to keep success at the front of your mind.

22. Seek out a mentor

Coaches need coaches, so find someone who can give you guidance and support as you navigate the challenges of running a fitness business.

23. Stay positive

Remember that ups and downs are an inevitable part of the biggest picture of being a business owner.
